Richard Tompkins

Richard Earl Tompkins was born on October 29, 1964 in Terre Haute, Indiana the youngest son of Ossie Edward Tompkins and Carrie Elizabeth Tompkins.

Richard accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Rapture Temple. He enjoyed spending time talking and laughing with his family and friends. Those who knew him well would tell you, that Richard also loved dogs and singing karaoke.

Richard Earl Tompkins departed this life on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 6:05 a.m. surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ossie and Carrie Tompkins; one son, Brandon Michael; four brothers Larry, Ronald, Charles and Timothy; and one sister, Rose Ellen.

Richard leaves to cherish his memories four sons, Richard Jr. of Louisville, KY, Terrell of Indianapolis, IN, Dominick and Javon of Terre Haute, IN; two daughters, Jayda and Jaylin of Terre Haute, IN; two sisters, Gloria Rice (James) of Brownsburg, IN, and Iva Baynard (Wayne) of Raleigh, NC; 2 brothers, Ossie Tompkins Jr.(Chalice) and Stephen Tompkins (Becky) of Terre Haute, IN. Seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and special friends.

Services are scheduled for Friday, April 16, 2021 at 7 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. until service the service begins on Friday at the funeral home.
