Robert J Davern Jr.

Robert J. Davern Jr., often known as “Troop”, passed away on March 26, 2021 at the age of 64 in Terre Haute. He was born June 22, 1956, to Robert J. Davern Sr. and Addie Marie Davern.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents and uncle Thomas Counterman (Delores). Survivors include brother Joe Davern (Cindy) of Dallas, Texas; sister Penny Wilson (Steve) of Terre Haute; uncle Jim Counterman (Barb) of Terre Haute; nieces and nephews Amanda Thompson (Bryan) and Jake Davern (Heather) of Dallas, Texas, along with Matthew Wilson of Terre Haute; great nieces and nephews include Noah, Macy, and Knox Thompson and Jude and Leo Davern, with another great niece on the way.

Robert enjoyed hunting, spending quality time with his many nieces and nephews, and most of all, watching Minnesota Vikings football. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan for the entirety of his life. Robert spent the last 40 years working as a custodial worker at Terre Haute’s City Hall. While there, he built lifelong relationship with many city employees that have carried through a majority of his life.

Services will be held at Greiner Funeral Home on Thursday, April 1st. Visitation will begin at 11 AM with a service beginning at 1 PM. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Terre Haute.
