Robert E "Earl" Hay

Robert E. “Earl” Hay, 90, of Terre Haute, passed away Monday June 18, 2018 in Union Hospital. Earl was born December 27, 1927 in Terre Haute to Charles Elmer Hay and Clora Mae Leatherwood Hay. He was a member of United Brethern Church in Union. He was retired as a truck driver for Wabash Fiber Box after 45 years of service. He enjoyed bowling and will be remembered by his family as working very hard to provide for them. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rev. Deloris Hay who passed away July 6, 1912. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Robbie Vest, he was also preceded in death by brothers; Carl, Lee and Ernest Hay, and a sister, Gertrude Jenkins. He is survived by four sons; Mike Hay and his wife Debbie of Brazil, IN., Steven Hay Sr. and his wife Marsha of Terre Haute, Bruce Hay and Margie of Terre Haute and Brian Hay and his wife Tabitha also of Terre Haute. He is survived by a daughter, Suzie Hay Lamp and her husband Terre Haute of Terre Haute. He is survived by sister in-laws, Rosemary Reberger, Beverly Airhart, Barbara Kingery and Vicki Earlywine. He is survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services are Sunday June 24th at 3:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the Funeral Home. Rev. Jeff Bridgewater will be officiating. Pallbearers are; Steven Hay Jr., Michael Hay, Luke Hay, Neil Hay, Joseph Vest and Scott Vest. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to United Brethern Church, 2611 Thompson Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47802, envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
