Rev. Robert Lee Hice, 93, of Brazil, IN, passed from this world to his heavenly home, to be with his Lord and Savior, and his loving wife, on May 24, 2020 at 11:34 am in Clay county, IN, in his residence.
He was born September 4, 1926 in Bowling Green, IN, to Albert S. and Marjorie (Houk) Hice. Robert started his working career at the age of 12 as a newspaper carrier. He had many jobs. He retired from Alcan Aluminum.
Robert started pastoring in 1959. He pastored 12 churches and assisted in 6 churches. Robert received his real estate license after retirement and was a realtor for 7 years. Robert was an avid gardener and jogger.
Robert graduated from Brazil High School in 1947. He returned safely home after WWII. Robert attended trade school in Chicago. Robert was a faithful member of New Life Fellowship in Terre Haute, IN, for 25 years.
He married Rosetta (Yocum) Hice on June 19, 1960 at the West Terre Haute assembly of God. Rosetta preceded him in death September 15, 2009.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Cynthia Kay Angell, of Linton, and Joyce Ann Fitzpatrick (Stephen) of Indianapolis, and 1 son, James Robert Hice, of Brazil, 3 grandsons, Christopher Angell, and Nicholas Angell of Linton, and Israel Fitzpatrick of Indianapolis, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Norma Dean Diel and Billy Leon Hice.
Robert would always jokingly check the newspaper daily to find his obituary, he can look down from heaven and know he finally made it.
Services for Robert will be Thursday May 28, 2020 at 1 pm in the New Life Fellowship, 7849 Wabash Ave, Terre Haute, Indiana 47803. Visitation will be from 11 am until service time at the church.
