Obituary

Robert “Bob” Kenneth Diekmann, 80, of Terre Haute passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023 at HutsonWood in Brazil, Indiana. He was born on July 12, 1943 in Robinson, Illinois to Walter F. Diekmann and Amanda Lucille (Weaver) Diekmann.

Bob graduated from Garfield High School in 1961. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for twenty years. He served two tours in Vietnam. He attended two years at Indiana State University before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Bob graduated from Pensacola Junior College. He was a lifetime member of the VFW #4809 in Norfolk, Virgina and Terre Haute VFW #972. Bob also held membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles #291.

Bob married the love of his life Catherine “Kitty” Bickley and they had forty one wonderful years together.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Bob is survived by his sister, Patty Stiegelbauer and brother-in-law Mike; a stepson Ernie Bickley (Dr. Phil Johnson) of Drexal Pennsylvania; nieces, Dr. Stacy Lowdermilk (Dr. Troy) of Center Point, Indiana and Nicole Duffy (Sam Coulter) of Wentzville, Missouri and several cousins.

Bob’s family gratefully acknowledges the excellent care he received while at HutsonWood in Brazil.

Per Bob’s wishes, cremation was chosen with no services.
