Robert "Bob" Dowell

Robert “Bob” Dowell, 92 of Terre Haute passed away February 6, 2020, in his home.  He was born April 19, 1927 in Terre Haute, to James Dowell and Sadie Marie Hayes Dowell.  Bob was a jack of all trades, and a master of none.  He worked as a carpenter with Montgomery Wards, and out of the carpenter’s hall 133.  He was a big fan of Nascar, one of his favorites was Mark Martin.  Bob enjoyed the big birthday parties his family would throw for him.  He was greatly loved, and respected by all his family and friends.  Bob had a passion for contributing to St. Jude.  He loved puzzles and taking care of the stray cats.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Martina Dowell, who he shared over 50 years of marriage, a brother, Paul Dowell, sisters; Maxine, Bea, Kate, and Barbara.

Bob is survived by sons, Robert Easton (Cheryl), Daniel Dowell (Cathy), Mark Dowell (Johnnie), daughters, Roberta James (Frank), Karen Meloon (Dennis), and Diana Alexander (Dannie), 27 grandchildren, and 69 great and great great grandchildren.

Services for Bob will be on Tuesday February 11, 2020 at 12 pm in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time at the funeral home on Tuesday. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
