Rodney Leo Jones

Rodney Lee Jones, 66, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday May 18, 2021 in his residence. He was born August 2, 1954 in Tacoma, WA. To Robert L. Jones and Zelma “Cindy” Haywood Jones. He was a retired Supervisor with the U.S. Postal Service after over 33 years of service. He enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s baseball games and played on the local Post Office Baseball team. He was an avid Yankees Fan. He still owned and was very proud of his 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 that he purchased new. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother Adu Jones. He was also preceded in death by his brother in-law, Jim Watson and sister in-law Pam Hensley. He is survived by his wife, Melody Watson Jones, whom he married March 28, 1973. He is survived by one son, Steven Jones (Korri) of Terre Haute, two daughters; Jennifer Hensley of Terre Haute and Cindy Woodward (Kevin Bracken) also of Terre Haute. He is survived by three brothers; Glen Jones (Kellie) of Tacoma WA., Russell Jones also of Tacoma and Sam Jones of Hawaii. He is survived by a sister in-law, Melinda Watson, two brother in-law, Tim Watson (Janice) and Brian Watson (Kristin). He is survived by grandchildren; Kirstie Smith (Chris), Kiedis Hensley, Kaigin Woodward, Emma Woodward, Carmen McMurray Jones, Cavin Woodward and Gabe Jones as well as several nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled for Monday May 24, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral Home. Pastor Mark Gallagher will be officiating. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
