Rosemary Mareena Kassis

Rosemary Mareena Kassis, 91 years old, of Terre Haute, IN, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday,
November 03, 2025, at 10:30 A.M., in Harrison Crossing Rehabilitation Center, located in Terre Haute, IN,
surrounded by her loving family. Rosemary was born on March 19, 1934, in Terre Haute, IN, to the late Albert
Mareena and Corrine “Kreme” Shahadey Mareena.

Survivors include her beloved Daughter, who was the light of her life, Sophia Kassis Davis, and her
husband, Donald “Donnie” Lee Davis, Jr., and her beloved grandsons: Andrew Thomas Davis, and his beloved
wife, Nicole Davis and Lucas George Davis and his beloved wife, Lyndsee Davis; and her six great-grandchildren:
Easton Matthew Davis, Elena Claire Davis, Adalynn KayDavis, her namesake, Islee Rose Davis,Blaire Leeana
Davis, Kamryn Ryan Gilliam, and soon -to-be-born Ripken Crew Davis.

Survivors also include her beloved Sister: Loretta Mae Mareena Nasser, with whom she lived with for the last
several years; her beloved Brother: Michael Albert Mareena; her Sister-in-Law: Rosemary Tanoos Kassis; her
Nieces and Nephews: Karen Nasser Uhlhorn (Scott), Nancy Jean Nasser Hawkins, Robert Eugene Nasser, Jr.
(Mary), and John Khoury Nasser (Mary). Her beloved Maternal Great-Nieces and Nephews: Anna Kay
Uhlhorn Fry (Jason), David Uhlhorn, Joanie Hawkins, Natalia Mae Nasser, Juliana Grace Nasser and Noelle
Mareena Nasser and her beloved Paternal Great-Nieces and Nephews: William “Willie” Kassis (Pam+), Zack
Kassis (Denise), Kevin Kassis (Ghada) and a host of first cousins, too numerous to mention, which she dearly
loved.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her beloved Parents: Albert Mareena and Corrine “Kreme” Mareena; her
beloved Husband, George Kassis, whom she married on October 23, 1966 and enjoyed 41 years of marriage;
her beloved Sister: Joan Mareena Nasser and her husband, Robert Eugene Nasser, Sr.; her Brothers-in-Law: Mose Kassis and Charles Kassis and his wife, Sauda; her special Niece, Brenda Jean Nasser; her Brother-in-Law: Fr. John K. Nasser; her Nephew: John Albert Kassis.

Rosemary attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated in 1952 from State High School located in Terre
Haute, Indiana. After graduating from high school, Rosemary was the proud Window Trimmer for Meis
Department Stores and remained in that position until her Uncle Frank Shahadey and Aunt Sarah Shahadey
requested that she join them in the family business known as Jack and Jill’s Baby and Maternity Shop working
along her aunts, uncles, sisters and cousins, and where she remained until their closing; after Jack and Jill
closed, Rosemary worked alongside her husband - George - who was the owner and operator of Court House
Realty, a well known realty office located in Terre Haute, Indiana. Rosemary was born into a very large family
and she enjoyed spending family time with her siblings, cousins, family and friends.

Rosemary was a lifelong member of St. George Orthodox Church, Terre Haute, Indiana and was a member of
the Ladies Society until her health declined. Rosemary’s Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 06, 2025 until the time of the Funeral at 11:30 A.M. at St. George Orthodox Church located at 1900 S. 4th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, with Rev. Fr. Habib Ghantous and the Rev. Archdn. Elias Corey officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. George Orthodox Church of Terre Haute, 1900 S. 4th Street, Terre Haute, IN, 47807. Greiner Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
