Rosemary "Mickey" Schimmel Obituary

Rosemary “Mickey” Schimmel, 91, of Vigo County passed away September 30, 2020.  She was born February 5, 1929 in West Terre Haute, Indiana, to Clark Robert Fields and Corine Lucile Davis Fields.  She attended the Terre Haute Bible Center on Wabash Avenue for many years.  She was known for her cooking, baking, and candy making.  She was famous for her noodles, peanut butter cookies, and fudge. She was a homemaker, and loved to decorate her home for the holidays. She loved to have her house filled with family.  She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Her family loved to hear her yodel, and sing Cowboy Sweetheart, the only song she would sing.  She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years William Schimmel (d. 4/14/1989); they married on May 27, 1944, sons; William Carl Schimmel III, and Bobby Joe Schimmel, brothers; Bobby Fields, Jacky Fields, Billy Joe Fields, and Timmy Fields, sisters; Peggy Readinger (Bob), and Carol White (Jim), and a son in law, Gary Bagley Sr.

She is survived by her sons; Bill Schimmel (Debbie), and Anthony “Tony” Schimmel, daughters; Marilyn Bagley, and Julie Schimmel, brothers; Alan Fields (Jane), Harold Fields (Joyce), Rex Fields (Betty), and Toby Fields (Cheryl), grandchildren; Wendy Dewey, Bradley Dewey (Kim), Gary Bagley Jr. (Amy), Shelly Nye (Dean), Kellie Swort (Billy), Billy Schimmel (Daphne), Dana Posey, Keri Englehart (Mike), Tara Kelley (Mike), Zach Schimmel, and Jade Humble-Schimmel (Johan), 19 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Rosemary will be Sunday October 4, 2020 at 4 pm in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. A visitation is scheduled from 1 pm until service time at the funeral home on Sunday. The family is requiring masks and social distancing for those individuals attending visitation and services. The family would also like to thank Westminster for their care and compassion.  Pastor Kenneth Coffman will officiate.  Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Park on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 11 am.
