Sandy Kay Haney

Sandy Kay Haney, 61, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on October 22, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on February 17, 1963, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Elmer Carlisle and Evelyn Carlisle.  Sandy was known to always be positive.  She had a giving and caring nature. Sandy enjoyed cooking dinner for family and welcomed anyone to join. She also prepared and delivered meals to neighbors and strangers because of her kindness and compassion for others.  She wanted to make sure everyone was able to eat. She spent most of free time with family. She loved her grandchildren and showered them with love and affection. Sandy enjoyed bingo. Despite her own personal health battles, Sandy cared for her hospital staff.  Often, making pillows, blankets, and writing letters to her doctors, nurses, and other health care staff.  She will be missed by her family that she cherished.  Sandy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Mark Haney Sr., whom she married on March 30, 1980; her children Mark Haney Jr. (Adriana), Valerie Smith (Jeremy), and Destiney Ferguson (Corey); grandchildren Nicholas Milner, Mason Haney, Brooklyn Haney, Parker Smith, Maddy Smith, and Jameson Nelson; siblings Elmer, Eddie, and Nancy.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Delores, Bob, and Chuck.  Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, October 28, 2024, at 1:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home.  Leroy Seqwick will officiate.  Burial will follow in Highland Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, from 11:00a.m. until service time.
