Sarah Ellen Phelps

Sarah Ellen Phelps, 87, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on May 6, 2025.  She was born on December 27, 1937, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Paul Purdy and Francis (Watkins) Ripple.  Sarah was a member of Farmers Chapel.  She also held membership with the Red Hat Society. She was a precious woman who loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, playing euchre with her friends, and gardening. Sarah also enjoyed traveling the country with her late husband Raymond collecting and reselling antiques.  Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Raymond Phelps; and 3 siblings.  She is survived by her children Cheryl Shields (Bill), DeWayne Phelps, Marty Phelps (Anita), and Brian Phelps (Jackie); grandchildren Amanda Shields, BJ Shields, JD Phelps, Nicole Marshall, Ryan Davidson, Travis Phelps, Corey Phelps, Allyson Phelps, Jacob Phelps, and Olivia Phelps; great grandchildren Mallory, Conner, Riley, Gavin, Kyra, Joslyn, Dakota, Skyler, Ralphie, Maisey Mae, Evelyn, and Callie; great great grandchildren Vayda and Clementine; and 2 brothers and 1 sister.  Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 12, 2025, at 12:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Watson Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, from 10:00a.m. until service time. The family would like to give a special thanks to Jim and Ann Shinn for all they've done for Sarah.
