Shirley McKamey Obituary

Shirley A. McKamey, 87, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on July 15, 2025.  She was born on October 5, 1937, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Ralph Akers and Ida Akers.  Shirley was a member of Westside Christian Church.  She was co-owner of Tall Pines Winery in Sandcut, IN for several years with her husband.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, but most of all, Shirley enjoyed being with her family.  If there was a sporting event, school function, or just an opportunity to spend time with her kids or grandkids she was always ready to go. "just let me get my shoes on!"  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years John McKamey, Sr.; sons John McKamey, Jr. and Tony McKamey; granddaughter Elizabeth and two great grandchildren.  Shirley is survived by her children Rose McKamey (Anita), Gary McKamey (Rittie), and Andrea Taylor; grandchildren Joe “John” McKamey (Jorge); Maylana Smith; Crystal Reliford (Shea), Billie Joe Epple; Aaron McKamey; Haley McKamey; Brandon Sherrill (Baylie); Bailey Sherrill (Hannah); Brice Taylor and 9 great grandchildren, and several others that have been like kids and grands to her. She loved them all!  She also has had several Step-children, grands and greats over the years.  Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 12:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, from 10:00a.m. until service time.
