Shirley Salyers Obituary

Shirley May Salyers, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Shirley was born April 25, 1940 in Fountanet, Indiana to Clifford and Katherine (Lanham) Balding. She was a member of the Cross Tabernacle Church and enjoyed collecting dolls and listening to country music. Shirley spent her final days in the care of Signature Healthcare of Terre Haute and Kindred Hospice. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Kenny (Jackie), Richard (Pat), and Albert; and sisters Mary, Margaret, Barbara, Evelyn, Linda Kay, and Carolyn. Surviving are her long-time companion Harold Summers; 3 sons Clifford Salyers, Richard Summers, and Harold Summers Jr.; 2 daughters Becky (Tim) Harris and Patty Rentschler; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be scheduled for family at a later date. Donations can be made in her memory to Kindred Hospice.
