Stephen Lynn Auten

Stephen Lynn Auten, 80, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on January 3, 2026 in Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, Terre Haute, Indiana.  Stephen was the former owner of R and A Sales and Service Corporation.  He was a member of the Hover Club of America.  Stephen enjoyed traveling on long distance trips on his motorcycle with his dog Suzie-Q.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary Diane (Boyll) Auten; daughters Christy A. Smith (Ryan) of Grove City, Pa.,  and Stepheny D. Auten (Jared) of Terre Haute; grandson Zachary Smith, God knows where; great grandsons Malcolm and Remington; brother Gary D. Auten; and his K-9 companion Sadie McGrew.  Stephen was preceded in death by his parents Charles W. Auten and Retamae (Chilcote) Auten and his brother Charles A. Auten.  Graveside services will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, on January 9, 2026, at Noon. In lieu of flowers please make contribution to your favorite charity.  The family wishes to thank all the friends and neighbors who called to check in, brought delicious food and looked out for them over the years.  Thanks to the kind doctors and nurses at Union Hospital ICU and the Gibson Family Center.
