Stephen A. Hines

Stephen A. Hines, 73, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away November 24, 2022, with his loving wife by his side.  He was born June 6, 1949, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Warren Hines and Mary K. (Bingman) Hines.  Stephen was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church.  He sang in the choir there and also at Northside United Methodist Church.  He sang Bass in a local quartet, “Higher Calling”.  He was active in the El Shaddai Emmaus Community.  Stephen held membership in Theta Chi fraternity at ISU from 1968-1972. He enjoyed cooking, golf, watching television, feeding birds, being outdoors, camping, and of course being with his family.  Stephen was a sports enthusiast especially in golf and slow pitch softball.  He worked in sales and also restaurant management.   Stephen is survived by his wife of 50 years, Diana (Terrell) Hines; his sons Bryan Hines and Barry Hines (Amanda); grandsons Henry, Jacob, and Cody; siblings Paul Hines, David Hines, Terry Martin, and Tracey Martin; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his K-9 companion, Bagel, whom he loved very much.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Memorial services will be on December 2, 2022, at 3:00p.m. at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 3050 E Davis Drive, Terre Haute, IN 47802.  Family and friends are invited on Friday, from 1:00p.m. until service time to come spend time with Stephen’s family and friends.  The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church.
