Steven D Matherly

Steven D. Matherly Sr., 68, of Terre haute, passed away Wednesday July 29, 2020 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Steven was born August 22, 1951 in Terre Haute to Gordon D. Matherly and Clara M. Hughes Jeffers. Steven was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Terre Haute, he was a graduate of State High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam. He was retired from the Army serving from 1969 to 1989 and worked for many years as a Lab Assistant for Eyemart and was in car sales for over 13 years. He is survived by his wife, Debra McCullough Matherly whom he married December 12, 1984 “Steve was the answer to Debra’s prayer for him to be her husband”. He is survived by a son, Steven D. Matherly Jr. of Terre Haute and a daughter, Holly Marie Matherly of Indianapolis. He is survived by a brother, Rick J. Matherly of Jasonville and two sisters; Debra J. Fleschner and Connie Grayless both of Terre Haute. He is survived by six grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews. Services are Saturday August 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Funeral Home on Saturday. Pastor Kevin Szwarga will be officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
