Theresa Booker Obituary

Theresa Shafer Booker, 65, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away May 17, 2025, at St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis after a long battle with kidney disease. She was born August 21, 1959, in Terre Haute, Indiana to James and Marlene (Austin) Shafer.

Theresa graduated from Terre Haute North High School in 1977. After Graduation, she worked as a Surgical Secretary at a few hospitals, locally and in Texas. When she became ill, she was an Insurance Agent for Crapo Insurance. She always loved to work and put her heart into every task.  Theresa enjoyed several hobbies including reading, singing and going to church. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time together with them. Her daughter Alaina and her little family were her whole heart. She often said Alaina’s husband was the son she never had. She was a loving, giving and amazing person whom so many people loved. She will be greatly missed.

Theresa is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Donald Shafer (Butch)

Theresa is survived by her daughter Alaina Valadez-McCullough and her son-in-law Catlin McCullough; three grandchildren: Liam McCullough, Elias McCullough and Mylah McCullough; sisters Sarah Higgins, Lisa Lugabihl (Warren) and Rhonda McGee and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 12-2 at Greiner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be directly after visitation at 2pm with Dirk Shaw officiating. Per Theresa’s wishes there will be no graveside services, she will be cremated.
