Thomas Edward Thompson

Thomas Edward Thompson, 87, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away, on July 27, 2025, at home, with his loving family by his side.  He was born on January 14, 1938, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Raymond Thompson and Anne (Rittinghouse) Thompson Lockard.  Tom worked at Rose Hulman, in maintenance, where he retired in 2000 where he had worked for 26 years. He held membership with the Eagles and also the American Legion Post 346.  He was an outgoing person, who never met a stranger.  Tom enjoyed fishing, going out with his family to clubs to listen to bands and dancing along with having a beer. Tom also played in a band himself in his younger days. He will be sorely missed by his family. Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years Carolyn Thompson; daughter Lori Thompson; step children Terri Rogers and Donald Rogers; god daughter Carol Sutton; grandchildren Scott Yates (Chelsey), Tammy Tanner (Jake), Johnny Goodman, Jason Rogers, Josh Rogers (Sam), Jennifer Ingersoll (Guy),Kyle Rogers (Jasmine), Desirae Long ( Bobby), Rikki Humes, Xavier Humes, Jemel Roberts (William), great grandchildren Aiden, Waylon, Bowen, Axel, Nevaeh, Adalynn, Kenzley, Keishawn, Liam, Olivia, Sharolynn, Jaden, Khalil, Makayla (Braden), Lilly, Sam, Emma, Mary (Logan), Alyssa, and Christopher; Josh, Mia, Abby, Kyle II, Erza, Kiana, Aeriana great great granddaughter Hazel; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents; step daughter Mary Jane Rogers; and siblings Helen Roberts, Sue Sullivan, Barbara Houston, Oscar Thompson, and Jim Thompson.  Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 1:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Highland Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11:00a.m. until service time.  The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for the care Tom received, especially Candice and Erika.
