Tommy Fort

Tommy L. Fort, 87, of Terre Haute, passed away December 11, 2023. Tommy was born May 1, 1936, in Springfield, Tennessee to Charles Fort and Alberta Blakemore Fort.

Tommy was a former mechanic for the Vigo County School Corporation and Stran Steel. He enjoyed working on cars and was an accomplished vocalist, singing with many bands in his lifetime.

He was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters and a daughter, Christine Sutton.  He is survived by two daughters, Jackie Fort and Sabrina Fort, both of Terre Haute and son, Timmy Fort of Terre Haute. He is also survived by his longtime companion of over 30 years, Melanie Huey.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday December 21, 2023 at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN. 47804. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
