Verlin "Sonny" Bennett

Verlin "Sonny" Bennett, 84, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on April 18, 2025.  He was born on April 1, 1941, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Floyd Edward and Marthella (Peters) Bennett.  Sonny was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church, where he was baptized.  He enjoyed fishing, golfing and woodworking. Sonny was also in the Terre Haute Softball Hall of Fame and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.  He is survived by his wife Greta (Wade) Bennett; children Steve Bennett, Danny Bennett (Tricia), John Bennett (Amy), Craig Bennett (Tiffany), and Kevin Bennett; sister Shirley Richards; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Helen Allen, Diane Little, Geraldine Greaver, Floyd Edward Bennett, and Gary Bennett,  A celebration of life will be on Friday, May 9, 2025, in Greiner Funeral Home, at 1:00p.m.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be at the funeral on Friday, from 11:00a.m. until service time.
