Vernita Murel Englum

Vernita Murel Englum, 97, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Signature Health Care. She was born September 2, 1922 in Danville, Illinois to Clyde and Mae Berry.
Vernita was a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed shopping, dancing, had a love for animals, was a humorous storyteller, but most of all cherished her time with family. She was a member of Eastern Stars and The American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, daughter Delila, and son-in-law William McCallum.
Vernita is survived by her sister, Dorothy Cassata; her daughter, Nita McCallum; her son, Phillip Witt and his wife, Linda; her grandchildren, Derrick Thomas and his fiancé Karen Jones, Simone Ramsey and her fiancé Billy Voils, James McCallum and his fiancé Kari Milroy, Brad Witt and his fiancé Erika Anzo, Chandra Gerberding and her husband Sean; and nine great-grandchildren.
