William Drake Obituary


William Gordon “Bud” Drake Sr., 80, of Terre Haute, passed away Sunday January 10, 2021 at Westminster Village. He was born August 1, 1940 in Terre Haute to Ruth Gilbert Drake and Earl Drake. He was a retired Truck Driver for Braden Manufacturing. He had a great interest in Harley Davidson Motor Cycles. He enjoyed listening to Country and Western music, enjoyed watching drag racing, monster truck and tractor pulls. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives; Patricia and Jean, brothers; Charles Drake, Bobby Drake, Dale Drake and Jerry Drake, a sister, Sue Fagg and a son, William Gordon Drake Jr. He is survived by two daughters; Cindy Porter (Doug) of West Terre Haute, Terri Cooper (Larry) of St. Mary’s, a son, Earl Drake of Terre Haute and step children; David Monk (Cindy) of Terre Haute, Debra Herrick (Phillip) of Terre Haute, April McKenzie (William Cooper) of Terre Haute, Billie Grayless (Fred) of Terre Haute and Darlene Monk also of Terre Haute. He is survived by one brother, Dwayne Drake (Pam) of Washington State, and a sister, Roberta Bays of Terre Haute. He is survived by seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Services are Friday January 15, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Noon at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff Lee will be officiating, burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
