William James Maxwell Jr.

William James Maxwell Jr., 84, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on December 20, 2025.  He was born on September 1, 1941, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to William James Maxwell Sr. and Maxine (Anstead) Maxwell.  William served proudly in the Indiana Air National Guard.  He was a Master Sergeant with 181st Fighter Wing.  He held membership in the Masonic Lodge and also the Shriners.  William attended Crosslane Church.  He graduated from Garfield High School in 1959.  After retirement, William continued to work several jobs to keep busy over the years. He enjoyed taking his wife on scenic drives, fishing, reading books and spending time with family. His great grandchildren meant the world to him. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Carolyn (Laughrey) Maxwell; son Scott Maxwell; brother Donald Maxwell; and pets Brandon and Chloe. He is survived by his granddaughter Brittney Maxwell; great grandchildren Avianna, Logan, and Jameson; and sister-in-law Kathleen Maxwell.  Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 26, 2025, at 1:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, from 11:00a.m. until service time.
