William Staggs Obituary

William Homer “Bill” Staggs, 95, of Terre Haute, passed away Thursday June 9, 2022 in his residence surrounded by his family. Bill was born February 26, 1927 in Parke County Indiana to William Herman Staggs and Dolly May Adams Staggs. Bill was a self-employed contractor and Carpenter building many homes in the Wabash Valley and was an Army veteran of World War II. Bill an avid antique car enthusiast, collector and restorer and was a Charter Member of the Wabash Valley Model “A” Club which later became the Sycamore “A’s”. He was also a former member of the Wabash Valley Antique and Classic Car Club. He had a great knowledge and interest in Model “A” Fords owning and restoring many for himself and others throughout the years. He and his wife along with many other Model “A” collectors, traveled to many states attending Model “A” functions and conventions. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and sisters and his wife, Mary Ellen Kraemer Staggs who passed away May 25, 2021 after 71 years of marriage. He is survived by one son Darrell Staggs (Patti) of Mooresville, IN; two daughters: Debbie Stoehr of Conroe, Texas, and Sharon Lofton (Mark) of Fishers, IN. He is survived by grandchildren; Blake Stoehr (Angela), Chris Stoehr (Jenny), Patrick Staggs (Shannon), Adam Staggs, Griffin Staggs, April Lofton Daniele (Greg) and Libby Barker (Josh). He is survived by seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Services are scheduled Wednesday June 15, 2021 at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation will from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family suggests the in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s disease Research www.michaeljfox.org. or the Terre Haute Humane Shelter, envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be made at www.greinerfuneralhome.com
