William "Billy" Shipman Obituary

William D. “Billy” Shipman, 67, of Terre Haute, passed away Friday June 7, 2024 in Lincoln Illinois on his was way to an automotive race in the area. He was born February 5, 1956 in Terre Haute to John D. Shipman and Ruth Einecke Shipman. He was a graduate of North High School and attended Indiana State University. He was involved in racing and as a referee most of his life, a passion and vocation. He loved racing and the racing “family” as well. He liked cars and was involved in the ISU Trike Race for many years. He was a well known umpire for many years in the area. Most importantly he loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Tina Slaven Shipman who he married in 2018. He is survived by daughters; Andrea Haskett, Alicia Iocoangeli (David) and Kristina Southard (Bill). One brother, John A. “Jack” Shipman. He is survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild as well as a niece and nephews. The family would especially like to thank his nephew and his wife, Tony and Christina Shipman for their help during a very difficult time. Services are at 1:00p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN. 47804. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Bailey will be officiating, burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to Special Olympics Indiana.
