James Christopher Hollifield, 69, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away at his home at 8:50 a.m. on December 3, 2017. He was born August 5, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana to James and Carrie Frances Barnes Hollifield.
He is survived by his daughter, Catina Hollifield Hart Jarvis (Patrick), son, James E. Hollifield (Jacqie), son T.J. Sowers (Sarah), and daughter, Krystine Hollifield Keagi (Danny), seventeen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Siblings Tilman Hollifield (Penny), Doug Hollifield, Rose Young, and Teresa Synder (Scott).
James (Chris) is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Sheena Louise Kay Hart. He was a highly decorated non-commissioned officer that served in the U.S. Army in three combat tours during Vietnam. A total of seven overseas assignment throughout his military career. He will be sadly missed.
Services for will be Wednesday December 13, 2017 at 6 p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th St., Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until service time.
