Ruth Alice (Smith) Greiner

Ruth A. Greiner, 90, of Terre Haute, passed away on November 24, 2017 in her residence. Ruth was born in Marshall, IL., on May 9, 1927 to Orville Smith and Iva Heyen Smith. Ruth worked for Meis Department Store, Aldens and as the store manager for Neu Mode Fashion’s in Honey Creek Mall. She also worked along with her husband and daughter at Philip C. Greiner Insurance Agency. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Philip C. Greiner who died in 2005. She is survived by one daughter, Gail A. Price of Terre Haute. She is also survived by one sister in-law Leah Bischoff of Terre Haute as well as a nephew John R. Bischoff and niece Carla Bischoff Haley both of Terre Haute, and Carla’s five daughters. She is survived by three cousins; Jean Chance, Mary Glick and Judy Wilt. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her very special friends of the Ladies Lunch Group. Services are scheduled for Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Rev. Larry Spear will be officiating, burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the Terre Haute Humane Shelter or Spay – Neuter League of Terre Haute, envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
